Storage Vault Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is self-storage and why would I need it?
Self-storage is a relatively recent service industry in the UK and it has originated largely from the USA where 1 in 11 people use it. We have storage units 40ft (300ft2) in size and these can be used to store almost anything from furniture to archive documents. The only things you are not allowed to store are perishable, live or flammable goods. Your stay can be short or long-term and only you have access to your goods. You are the only key holder!
Self-storage solutions can save businesses money. Instead of paying office rents and rates, they pay a smaller fee for self-storage and they free up office space for personnel. If you are unsure of what our premises are like then please feel free to contact us on the number and one of our team will be more than happy to show you round.
2. How does self-storage at Storage Vault work?
It is incredibly simple to be honest! While many self-storage firms will have you on the phone for what feels like hours, we keep the storage process simple. We quickly access your storage requirements and offer you a price tailored to meet your needs. You are welcome to view our premises and we will not ask for a deposit at any stage. The length of stay is entirely up to yourself and only you have access to your storage unit. All we ask is that, under SSA legislation, all goods being stored must be insured. We do not accept any liability for your products.
3. What kind of security does Storage Vault have?
We take the security of your goods and possessions extremely seriously. To protect them, our premises at Clark Street, Paisley have a manned security gate 24/7. Furthermore, access to our storage units is strictly controlled by a double door entry system. Also, you are the only one with access to your room, which is locked with a padlock owned by you.
4. Do I need my own padlock?
Yes, you need to provide your own padlock. This way you know that only you have access to the goods in your storage unit.
5. What is the minimum rental period?
The minimum rental period is 1 month.
6. Do I pay weekly or monthly?
Our team at Storage Vault will invoice you on a four weekly basis, payable in advance.
7. How fast can I move in and what do I need?
You can move in immediately and all you require is two forms of ID, one of which must be a photo ID (Passport or Driving Licence) and a utility bill less than 3 months old.
8. Do I need insurance?
Yes, this is very important! Your goods MUST be insured while in storage as we do not take any responsibility for uninsured goods.
